DUN & Modem Initialisation Strings Begin by double-clicking on the My Computer icon, then double-click on the Dial-up Networking icon. You should see a window with a Dot CX Limited icon. Using the right mouse button, right click on the Dot CX Limited icon and select Properties from the menu. Try Reducing the "Maximum Speed" to 38400. Click on the "Configure..." button to open the Modem Properties window: Click on the Connection tab Click on the Advanced... button to open the Advanced Connection Settings window: In the Extra settings field type in your initialisation string, for example: ATS6=4 or ATS6=4+MS=11,1,2400,28800 If you get an error when trying to dial then these settings do not work for your modem.
